Day 10 – Madame Tussauds, Tower Bridge and Tower of London

We went on the Big Bus again today as we had a 2 day pass.  First stop was Madame Tussauds, I am so glad we pre bought tickets as we were able to jump ahead of the huge queues.  So many people, so many school kids, so many French!!!  WOW what a place, first stop is the A-List stars.  I can’t believe how life like these figures are, they are scattered throughout and often I thought it was a visitor standing there, then realised they didn’t move!  There were Hollywood stars, music stars, sport stars, royalty, presidents etc.  There was a ‘little’ tour called England through the ages, we went on these rail-cars designed like English Cabs.  We went through a maze of tunnels that had moving exhibits about the history of England in a timeline, from medieval times through to the burning of London, to the wars, to the present time .. it was FANTASTIC.  The house of horrors was fun.  The finale was a 4D film of Marvel Superheroes, where the Marvel superheroes, Spiderman, Hulk, Iron man, Wolverine etc were saving London from Dr Evil … it was fantastic and 4D is far superior to 3D, we got squirted with air at the correct moment and the back of the chair moved to the hitting and falling etc.  One scene snot came out of the Hulk when he sneezed, air blasted at our ears and you swear it was snot hitting you!!!  I can’t wait to see a 4D movie.

We hopped onto the Bus and had the proper route today after yesterday’s detours, next stop the Tower Bridge.  This is a must see place.  So old, the smells are there to go with age.  So many displays from the Crown jewels to the knights in armour, to execution equipment, ravens (live and loose) and so much more.  But, you must be reasonably fit, so many stairs, so many tiny spiral staircases.  I can’t see elderly or disabled people getting much benefit from this place.  The weather was great today, London can have a blue sky!  Now t was hometime via Garfunkels for tea.  It was a 12 hour day, so early to bed to rest my tootsies.
