Day 15 – Uckfield, Eastbourne and Birling Gap

Today, Tom drove Kylie and myself to Eastbourne to pick up the hire car.  Kylie has hired it for the four weeks I am here so we can travel around the countryside.  We ended up hiring a brand new black Ford Fiesta.  A bit nerve racking knowing it is new and has absolutely no road wear and tear!!!  Whilst here in Eastbourne we went to the seaside , walked the Eastbourne Pier and had a lovely Italian icecream each.  It is funny seeing a beach full of pebbles and not sand.  It was a blue sky, warm in the sun but had a bitter wind.  We saw a boxer being taken for a walk, so of course, I just had to go up and pat it!

After this we drove to Birling Gap which isn’t to far away and admired the chalk cliffs, as it was a very cold wind we didn’t venture too far and went back to the warmth of the car.

We arrived back home for lunch, then Kylie went back to work (from home).  I the dutiful sister did all the washing and ironing for them whilst she worked.

  1. I think you will be about 3 inches shorter by the time you get back home from all the walking you have done.
Keep the photos coming. They are great. At least there are some blue skies. Deidre
